“Pandemic Perspectives: Voices from the Margins” Produced in Conjunction with Black Arts Love

Telling impactful stories about underrepresented communities is the goal of my career and I can’t believe the opportunities I’ve had lately to work on projects that mean so much to me. For the past few months Oliver Stellfox and I have been producing and editing a special storytelling series for Black Arts Love that highlights the experiences of Black artists and creatives during the pandemic.

“Pandemic Perspectives: Voices from the Margins,” features nine artist stories and explores the consequences and some surprising benefits the pandemic afforded Seattle creatives while reflecting on the resources needed both then and now for our artistic communities to thrive. Talented artists from a diverse range of creative mediums were represented in the series including painter and muralist Aramis Hamer, abstract artist Moses Sun, and composer Kelvin Penn.

As a Black Arts Love vendor, I also had the opportunity to step on the other side of the camera and be interviewed. View my interview and a few other selects from the series below. Be sure to check out the entire artist series via the Black Arts Love YouTube channel.
